Life After Happy Hour

Late to the party, but here for what endures

About

What this blog is

This blog is where I’ll share my experiences about cocktail culture, and the practice of making mixed drinks as a hobby, along with any other topics that might naturally revolve around them.

What you’ll find here

  • Recipes and reviews of spirits I’ve tried
  • Exploration of the Craft Cocktail Movement I arrived too late to witness firsthand
  • Chronicles of the evolving home bar my wife and I have enjoyed creating together
  • Stories of Atlanta, my adopted hometown — the people, places, and conversations I encounter
  • Reflections that appear when you’re sitting with a close friend after the crowd has gone

What this blog isn’t

  • It isn’t professional bartending advice
  • It isn’t a place to “win” arguments
  • It isn’t a trend-chasing influencer page

Why I’m writing
Like the tagline says: “Late to the party, but here for what endures.” I may have missed out on the Craft Cocktail Renaissance of the past decade, but my enjoyment of learning how to make cocktails for my wife, my family, and myself has motivated me to document my experiences and create a digital scrapbook, and causing me to reflect more deeply on what I’m making and why. I also hope to connect and contribute to the community of like-minded cocktail enthusiasts.

If that sounds like your kind of company, pull up a stool. I’m glad you’re here.

Cheers,
Life After Happy Hour
